This conference followed on a time of turmoil for the profession on many levels. Nursing education is transitioning to higher education, the pandemic destabilised the foundations of healthcare, and service delivery obliging all of us to function on a digital level. The positive outflow of these events were new possibilities for innovation and collaboration that added a lot of value to the professionals and healthcare.

These processes are nowhere near com-pletion, but we have sufficiently settled in the new normal to start reflecting on the lessons learned as we move into the future. This year’s conference was a hybrid event presented online but also on-site at The Focus Rooms in Modderfontein, Johannesburg.
